A Rainy Weekend

Last weekend, dark clouds filled the sky on Saturday morning, and it started raining heavily before we even had breakfast. My family had planned to go to the park and have a picnic, but of course, we had to change our plans and stay inside instead.

At first, I felt a little disappointed because I had been looking forward to playing outside all week. However, my mother suggested we make the best of it, so we decided to play board games together in the living room. My father taught me a new card game that he used to play when he was a child, and we all laughed a lot during the game.

In the afternoon, my mother baked chocolate chip cookies, and the warm, sweet smell filled the entire house. My brother and I built a large blanket fort using pillows and chairs, and we pretended it was a secret castle. We even watched our favorite movie inside the fort while eating the fresh cookies. By the end of the day, even though the rain never stopped, we all agreed that it had turned into one of the most fun and memorable weekends we had spent together in a long time.
